In biblical times, persons with particular gifts were chosen to share in governing and ministry. This tradition continues in the Presbyterian Church, as Elders are elected for service by the people. Together with Teaching Elders (Ministers of the Word and Sacrament), Ruling Elders are responsible for the mission and government of a particular church. The Clerk of Session works closely with the Minister (who also serves as Moderator) to make meetings run smoothly and to record, preserve, and convey communications to the Session and other governing bodies.
We are grateful for all those who serve as Teaching and Ruling Elders in our church family.
